A common source of pics for decoupage is greeting cards, invitation cards, visiting cards, or calendars. Cards and sometimes glossy papers are too thick to stick directly on the board or any other surface, even with fevicol. To handle this, cut out the pic and let it float in water in a shallow basin or plate, based on how big the pic is. After sometime, take out the pic and carefully extract the top paper (with the design) peeling off the base layer which can be thrown. Let the top paper dry and flatten in between the pages of a thick book or below a heavy book. Then it is ready to be used - apply fevicol and stick on any surface like another book, frame, mirrors, pots, ceramic plate, wood, jute surface.

Hi Madhavi

I have a (silly 8O) doubt in Decoupage. You have given in your tutorial that we need to apply an even coat of hobby ideas glue n gloss on the entire surface. Is entire surface means even on the pasted picture too is it???

8 Crafty 04.01.09 at 12.54 am04

Yes :) it includes the picture too.

Hi Madhavi

How will I evenly give a coat to the decoupaged picture? The Glue N Gloss is like a glue and am not able to speard it with brush. Can i add little water to it and use brush to give coat?

14 Crafty 04.04.09 at 12.54 pm04

no water, without water u should be able to spread it using a painting brush. check the video i have posted in my site today. thanks.
