I amf from the U.S. and will be visiting in Bangalore the first two weeks of October. I hope to have a few days in Chennai as well. I’m most interested in learning about the surface design techniques in Indian textiles: batik, block printing, resist, dyeing, etc. I would love to take a craft class during my visit. I would like to advertise for my art and craft classes for children during the 2010 summer holidays. I do a variety of stuff from paper to cloth to best out of waste. I have these classes for 10 days in the 2nd week of April (6th April) which are mostly for children upto 12years of age. I will most likely have 2 – 3 batches and have a minimum of 6-8 children per batch. I only take on first come first serve basis. There is a Rs. 50 enrollment fee and a form to fill so that I can place children in the batches according to their age group.
I am based in Banaswadi, Bangalore and my email is faye_w@ymail.com while my mobile number is 9845532829. The fee for the 10 days is Rs. 1,500 and the children will do 2 items a day. All material will be provided to the children. Timings are flexible based on the items we will do.
If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me early so as to avoid disappointment later. I request parents to kindly send their children in clothes that thry dont mind getting a bit messy. I will give the children appropriate aprons but there’s no fun if there is no mess!!!
